The Cathedrale de Saint Front in Périgeux. It was designed in pseudo-Byzantine style and looks quite stunning. It stands in the centre of the mediæval town, surrounded by winding alleys and tiny cobbled squares with half-timbered houses.
A view of the cathedral from along the river Dordogne at dusk. The town also boasts an ancient, cave-like former cathedral and some interesting Roman remains. The Tourist office has useful walking guides to the city's sights. The inside of Bordeaux cathedral, where Eleanor of Aquitane married Charles of Anjou. The cathedral is somewhat modest, and I found Bordeaux city itself to be exeedingly uninspiring.
