The stunning, cobra-like pitcher of my Darlingtonia.

It won't tolerate stale, hot roots. Standing it on the greenhouse floor in summer seems to help, and when the temperatures rise above 28C it gets rainwater ice cubes scattered over the soil.

Compost: Equal parts peat, live sphagnum moss, sand and ground composted bark
Pot: 8" full-length clay pot
Watering: Sits in 2" water summertime. Regular overhead watering on hot days. Kept just moist winter.
Light: Bright diffused light, some full sun.
Temperature: Fully hardy. Up to 32C
